Plan Your Weekend

Beatties Ford Road gets full. Here's how to get in, where to park, where to stay, and what's around you.

Plan Ahead

Know Before You Go

Beatties Ford Road gets full. Here’s how to get in, where to park, and what changes on Homecoming Saturday.

Getting to campus

Campus parking is limited and strongly discouraged on Homecoming Saturday. Plan your route before you leave.

  • Ride the CATS #7 bus straight up Beatties Ford Road
  • Carpool with your line, your class or your crew
  • Uber and Lyft drop-offs are the fastest way in

The Gold Line is not running

The CityLynx Gold Line will NOT be operating during Homecoming. Standard CATS bus service continues as normal.

  • CityLynx Gold Line — suspended for Homecoming
  • CATS bus routes — running as scheduled
  • Check CATS for day-of service updates

Park smart

Parking in surrounding neighborhoods or unapproved lots is at your own risk. JCSU is not responsible or liable for ticketed, booted or towed vehicles.

  • Use approved lots only
  • Do not block neighborhood driveways
  • Towing and booting is enforced all weekend

Game day at Irwin Belk

Kickoff against Lincoln (Pa.) is at 2:00 PM. Gates, bag policy and seating follow standard JCSU Athletics game-day rules.

  • Kickoff 2:00 PM at Irwin Belk Complex
  • Buy tickets in advance through Urban Tix
  • Arrive early — the tailgate starts at 7:00 AM

Still have a question?

Plan Your Weekend

Flying in, driving up, or coming from across town — here’s where to land and what’s around you.

Where to stay

Host hotel confirmed

Official Homecoming Host Hotel

Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel

3315 Scott Futrell Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208

The official Homecoming host hotel — and the address for all three National Alumni Association events. The Sneaker Ball, the Spades Tournament and Bingo are all here on Saturday night, so staying on site means no drive after the ball.

Room block sold out. The Homecoming room block here has sold out. The Sheraton is still the official host hotel and still hosts all three alumni events — rooms may open up, so it is worth calling directly. A second hotel is being confirmed and will be posted here.

≈2 miles from campus

Uptown Charlotte

The biggest cluster of hotels, walkable to restaurants and nightlife. Easiest base if you are flying in without a car.

≈8 miles from campus

Charlotte Douglas (CLT)

Airport-adjacent hotels, usually the cheapest option and an easy rideshare up I-85 on game-day morning.

≈10 miles from campus

University City / Northlake

More rooms when Homecoming weekend sells out closer in. Plan extra drive time on Saturday.

Book early either way — Charlotte fills up on Homecoming weekend.

The Neighborhood

Spend It in the West End

Homecoming happens in the Historic West End — the neighborhood that grew up around this University and Charlotte's original Black business corridor. Spend your money here while you're home.

Accessibility

Everybody Gets Home

  • Accessible parking is available in approved lots — arrive early, spaces are limited on game day.
  • Accessible seating at Irwin Belk Complex follows standard JCSU Athletics game-day policy.
  • The parade route along Beatties Ford Road is street-level, but curbs and crowding vary by block.
  • Need an accommodation? Call ahead so the Homecoming team can plan for it.
